Indian Spiced Lentils

Delicious lentils


  • Yellow Lentils, washed and
    rinsed through a sieve- 2 cups

  • Vegetable Oil- 2 Tbsp

  • Yellow Onion, peeled and roughly
    chopped- 1

  • Garlic- 2 cloves

  • Grated Ginger- 2 Tsp

  • Garam Masala- 1 Tsp

  • Salt, to taste

  • Fresh Cilantro, chopped

  • Water- 3-1/2 cups


  • Add the onion and garlic in a small food processor, and pulse until its really finely chopped.
  • Add the oil along with the onion mixture and ginger in a medium saucepan, turn the heat on medium and saute for about 4
  • Add about 2 Tbsp of water to the onion
    mixture followed by the garam masala, stir
    for a few seconds, then add the lentils and
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, allow it to simmer for about 20 minutes and season with salt and cilantro to taste.
