Yellow Lentils, washed and
rinsed through a sieve- 2 cups
Vegetable Oil- 2 Tbsp
Yellow Onion, peeled and roughly
Garlic- 2 cloves
Grated Ginger- 2 Tsp
Garam Masala- 1 Tsp
Salt, to taste
Fresh Cilantro, chopped
Water- 3-1/2 cups
- Add the onion and garlic in a small food processor, and pulse until its really finely chopped.
- Add the oil along with the onion mixture and ginger in a medium saucepan, turn the heat on medium and saute for about 4
- Add about 2 Tbsp of water to the onion
mixture followed by the garam masala, stir
for a few seconds, then add the lentils and
- Bring the mixture to a boil, allow it to simmer for about 20 minutes and season with salt and cilantro to taste.
